What if my sheet is very wide?

Unused empty columns are trimmed automatically. Wide sheets with many columns switch to landscape. Very wide tables may still wrap — hide unused columns or split large sheets for best results.

Are formulas preserved?

PDF stores calculated values as text, not live formulas. Open the .xlsx in Excel if you need to edit calculations.
