How it works

How to convert Word to PDF

Convert .docx documents to PDF in your browser — free, no signup. Pages are layout snapshots (including typical images), not Microsoft Word’s own export, so text may not be selectable and complex floats can shift.

Supports modern .docx from Microsoft Word, Google Docs exports, and compatible editors. Legacy .doc must be saved as .docx first.

  1. Add your .docx file to Word to PDF.
  2. Choose page size and quality if needed, then review the output note.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and wait for local processing.
  4. Download the PDF for email, print, or archive — open it to verify layout.
Why browser processing & tips

Why process PDFs in your browser?

Most PDF sites upload your file to a remote server first. That adds wait time, queueing, and means your document passes through infrastructure you do not control. LokaPDF converts Word to PDF entirely in your browser — file content is not uploaded to our servers. Legacy .doc files must be saved as .docx in Word first. The tool works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, and Android with no install.

Submit homework, send resumes, or archive final versions of proposals.

Tips

  • Use High quality when small text looks soft; Fast is quicker for drafts.
  • Compress afterward if the PDF is large due to images.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Word to PDF free with no signup?

Yes. Convert .docx files to standard PDF free in your browser — no account, no upload to our servers, and no watermark on the downloaded file.

Which Word format is supported?

Modern .docx from Microsoft Word, Google Docs exports, and compatible editors. Legacy .doc files are not supported — open in Word and Save As .docx first.

Will layout and images match my document?

We render your .docx in the browser (including typical inline images) and capture each page into a PDF. Common documents look close; complex floats or uncommon fonts may shift. Page size defaults to Match document (reads A4 / Letter / Legal / A3 from the file); you can override. Choose Fast / Standard / High under Quality for speed vs sharpness. This is not Microsoft Word’s own exporter. (Automated Node/CI tests use a plain-text redraw fallback — not the browser layout path.)

Is the output a standard PDF?

Yes. It opens in Adobe Reader, Preview, Chrome, and mobile apps. Pages are layout snapshots, so text may not be selectable like a Word-exported PDF. Large illustrated files produce bigger downloads and can take several minutes — keep the tab open; High quality is slower, Fast is quicker but softer. Very long jobs may time out after several minutes.

Can I convert Word to PDF on Mac without Word installed?

Yes. Upload .docx from Pages exports or Google Docs in any Mac browser — conversion runs locally and does not require Microsoft Word on your Mac.

Does LokaPDF upload my Word document for conversion?

No. Your .docx file is processed on your device inside the browser. We do not upload document content to our servers for conversion.
